Long Branch's largest food pantry relocates — now based at St. Luke's

St. Brigid's Food Pantry and Kitchen has moved uptown to 535 Broadway. Full pantry operations resumed on July 8, 2026 — same hours, same welcome.

FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION

St. Brigid’s Food Pantry and Kitchen is pleased to announce that its food distribution and lunch program has moved uptown to 535 Broadway, Long Branch. Formerly located at St. James’ Episcopal Church in Long Branch, St. Brigid’s is now located at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. The move took place in mid-June; full pantry operations resumed on July 8, 2026.

Thanks to the dedication and commitment of St. Brigid’s volunteers and the pantry’s strong network of community partners such as Monmouth Family Health Center, RWJBarnabas Monmouth Medical Center, FULFILL, and Johnson’s Restaurant Equipment, the move went efficiently, smoothly, and quickly. Nancy Francese, Director of St. Brigid’s, noted: “Our community partners and volunteers were absolutely incredible — this move couldn’t have happened without them. Everyone simply stepped up and worked together to make an overwhelming and challenging task seem very easy!”

St. Luke’s has been warm and welcoming in opening its doors to St. Brigid’s, and both organizations are excited to be working together. Pastor Chungmi commented: “St. Luke’s was looking for an opportunity to feed our neighbors, and St. Brigid’s was looking for a new home. God brought us together to make a difference in the Long Branch community.”

St. Brigid’s is the largest and most comprehensive food pantry program in Long Branch; it is open weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The pantry provides clients with self-choice groceries, including protein and meat selections; fresh vegetables and fruit; bread; and a take-out lunch. In 2025 St. Brigid’s distributed 1.6 million pounds of food, serving 8,280 families and feeding 30,433 adults and children. In addition, the pantry served 13,000 “grab ‘n go” lunches last year.

St. Brigid’s also offers hope and strives to ensure all of their clients’ needs are met by having its community partners on-site during pantry hours to ensure everyone has easy access to critical social services: Fulfill provides SNAP information and registration; Monmouth Family Health Center provides information regarding the many services they provide (dental, pediatric, OB/GYN, medical, podiatry) to the uninsured and minimally insured; and Monmouth Medical Center provides dietary information and nutritional counseling.

An official grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held in the near future.
